What is zero-knowledge encryption?
Zero-knowledge encryption is a security model where only the user possesses the keys to decrypt their data. At iNeverTrust, your master password is never sent to our servers. Instead, it is used locally on your device to generate encryption keys. This means even if our database were compromised, your data remains scrambled and unreadable to everyone, including our own engineers.
What happens if I lose my master key?
Because of our zero-knowledge architecture, we do not store your master key or have any way to reset it. If you lose your master key, you lose access to the data in your vault permanently. We strongly recommend using our secure recovery phase tool during setup and keeping a physical copy in a safe location.
Is my data stored on your servers?
Only encrypted ciphertext is stored on our servers to allow for cross-device synchronization. This data is useless without your local master key. For users requiring absolute air-gapped security, we offer an 'Offline Only' mode where data never leaves your local hardware.
How do I recover my account?
Account recovery is only possible if you have your unique 24-word Recovery Seed generated during your first vault creation. This seed acts as a bypass key that can reconstruct your vault access. Without the Master Password or the Recovery Seed, data recovery is mathematically impossible by design.
